KODAQ is designed to collect as little as possible — which is nothing.
Nothing. KODAQ has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising. We do not operate any servers that receive your data, and the app makes no network connections to us.
All photos and film rolls are stored only on your device, encrypted at rest. KODAQ never uploads them — not to us, not to anyone. The only time photos can leave your device is if you choose to order prints, which you do yourself; see Ordering prints below.
The camera permission is used solely to capture photos into your film roll. The “Add to Photos” permission is used only when you explicitly choose to save photos to your device’s photo library. Neither permission results in any data being sent to us.
If you choose to share photos, that happens entirely through Apple’s standard share sheet, directed by you, to recipients you choose. KODAQ is not involved in the transmission and retains nothing. For activities where a text caption makes sense, the share includes a short “captured with KODAQ” line — a fixed message with no link, identifiers, or tracking — and it is omitted when you simply save photos to your library.
KODAQ lets you order physical prints of a finished roll, developed and mailed to you by an independent photo lab, Exposure Therapy, in Brooklyn, NY. This is always your choice and never automatic.
When you place an order, KODAQ saves that roll’s photos to your device’s photo library and opens the lab’s ordering website in an in-app browser. There, you upload the photos, enter your shipping address, and pay the lab directly. Those photos and details are handled by the lab under its own privacy policy and terms, not ours. KODAQ does not receive or see your order, your shipping address, or your payment.
The lab pays KODAQ a small referral fee for orders that begin in the app. To support that, the link that opens the lab carries a fixed tag identifying KODAQ as the referrer — it contains no information about you and is not used to track you.
KODAQ does not collect data from anyone, including children.
